Katherine, a native of Ct, has been serving Fairfield County for 15 years in the Veterinary field. Long time veterinary technician transitioned into operations in 2017. With a degree in business and engineering from Fairfield University, falling into Veterinary medicine was a “Happy and forever rewarding accident.” Using the tools gained throughout her veterinary career and education, transitioning into operations was the obvious choice.
As a technician working in mostly Emergency, Oncology, Surgical and General Practice, it was clear that General Practice was “Home.” “We are the baseline and foundation for every client and their pet.” Educating clients became most valuable.
Transitioning from the floor to operations was seamless. “Just like our patients and cases, I became interested with the puzzle pieces in which make for a successful team and practice.”
“It is a terribly difficult industry yet so rewarding.” “I realized over years past what the staff really wanted.” “To be appreciated.”
Sharing this experience and being able to relate to support staff made it easier to become a successful manager. Culture and Education soon became the focus and top priority while staying ahead of any curve the industry had waiting ahead.
It was not long before Katherine adopted the nickname “Coach.”
